Update "work" attribute on outlook contacts

Hi'

I am having an issue here, where i updated the telephoneNumber attribute i active directory. The change was then synchronized to GAL and from there to the "work" telephone attribute on all of my Outlook 2010 users company linked local Contacts.

The info i put in the telephoneNumber AD attribute, was the users Telephone number.

The info my users had in the ""work" attribute, was the last 4 digits of their Telephone number.

So now i have changed the telephoneNumber in AD to the last 4 digits of the users Telephone number. This changes is the synchronized to GAL, but it never updates in the users local contacts... why?

I did some testing, and i seems like, if i change the AD attribute TelephoneNumber from: 12345678 to 123456789 the change is sync'ed to outlook, but if i change the attribute to 1234567 the change is not sync'ed. As if the new value needs to be longer (not higher digit, telephoneNumber is string)

How do i force the Contact attribute Work to be the same as telephoneNumber??

Hi,

Could you tell me the version of Exchange and Outlook?
Could you detail the mean of local contact? Suggest contracts?

This might be an Offline Address book (OAB) issue. Please perform the following steps:

1. Send/receive > download address books > Full details.
2. Switch your account mode from Cache mode to online mode.

Let me know the result when completed step One or step Two. Feel free to post back.

It's really strange, seem outlook contact only update increase not decrease.

How about exchange recipients' mailbox properties sync? Correct or not?

If there is something wrong with Exchange, you should post your issue in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/category/exchangeserver/
